We are seeking to recruit a high caliber CPO Program Manager for our Conformity Assessment Program team in Beijing.  CPO provides direction, oversight, interpretation, guidance and counseling on a global basis concerning program policies, practices and procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, engineering quality and technical integrity in Program Management, Business Liasion and Accreditation Management. 


The successful incumbent will be responsible for the management, development of conformity assessment services within assigned area(s). He/she will engage with national, regional, international conformity assessment communities to stay current of the latest conformity assessment trends and regulatory changes, and influence changes where possible to support UL’s Mission and business growth.


  • Manages conformity assessment services within the assigned areas according to regional, international conformity assessment standards, scheme/accreditation requirements and other applicable policies. 
  • Facilitates the development of new conformity assessment services that meet customers’ needs.
  • Balances business needs with safeguarding UL’s integrity and Mission while ensuring compliance with various requirements.
  • Identifies policy synergies between service offerings and consolidates where possible to support operational efficiency.
  • Engages with external accreditors, scheme owners and regulators to ensure the services are in compliance with accreditation, scheme requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Identifies and support new service opportunities for the business based on changing conformity assessment landscape, regulatory requirements, new technologies and customers’ needs.
  • Influences the conformity assessment community using sound conformity assessment principles and best practices.
  • Develop, deliver related conformity assessment schemes training.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, plus generally 8 years of directly related experience.
  • Program/project management and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to learn and understand technical vocabulary common to conformity assessment services.
  • Working knowledge of conformity assessment standards (e.g. ISO/IEC 17065, ISO/IEC 17025).
  • Strategic thinker, demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings, negotiate and influence outcomes.
  • Strong communication and networking skills with working knowledge of Quality Management, experience in conformity assessment service development desired.
  • Excellent in Chinese and English.
